Bonallo Connections - Brewers, Fishers and Teachers
Pam Griffiths
This is the story of half my husband's maternal family. Here you will find an account of the Bonallo family which originated in Fifeshire and migrated to Edinburgh, and the other paternal ancestral lines of my mother-in-law. In part 1 of Bonallo Connections - Brewers, Fishers and Teachers you will find Bonallos in Markinch and nearby parishes as well as Edinburgh and further afield. You will also find their kin: Stark, Dowie, Briggs and others in Fife; Gordon, Turnbull, Oversby etc. in the Borders and Oversby and Mason in Yorkshire.
Part two of Bonallo Connections - Brewers, Fishers and Teachers follows the Ross and Cromarty lines of this family. Here are some of the much intermingled McKay, Grant and Fraser families who had lived either side of the Dornoch Firth for generations. There is also information about a McNaughton family which probably had its origins in Perthshire, before the story returns to Edinburgh to pick up the final generation of Bonallos there.
